Chris Ricci is the City Council Member for Modesto’s District 3 and a Partner at the digital marketing firm COMPETE Digital. Founded in 2019, COMPETE Digital is a firm that advocates for campaigns and causes, having executed 400 campaigns in 30 states over the past cycle. With 25 years of experience as a concert promoter, Ricci has organized thousands of events, including Modesto's X Fest, Lucky Fest, and the Fat Cat Music House and Lounge, featuring acts like Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg, and Rob Zombie.
As a council member, Ricci advocated for and passed the Modesto CHAT Team initiative, providing an alternative response model for police dealing with homelessness and mental health issues. He also aggressively pushed and voted to establish Modesto Park Rangers to patrol parks, reducing crime and drug-related activities. Additionally, he voted to pass a sideshow ordinance to curb street racing and reckless driving, while lifting the cruising ban to decriminalize a cherished tradition. He also voted to approve housing developments that will add up to 6,000 units, aiming to increase supply and reduce rents.
Ricci moved to Modesto in 1999 after growing up in the Bay Area, and graduated from the University of San Diego in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He and his wife Kimberly, along with their sons Connor and Henry, love living in Modesto. Ricci is also passionate about soccer and enjoys traveling around the country to support the United States National Team.
